Freedom

Salam and Hi.

Just want to reflect and rebutt some remarks from some people.
I believe, people who regard themselves as modern and liberal talk about freedom the most
It gives you the impression that these people are those who know freedome more than others.

But then, when it comes to respecting others preference, say in choosing wardrobe, they tend to condemn some people who are different.
Ok, maybe you don't get my point here.
So, I'm gonna elaborate it.

When in first year, my Biophysics lab supervisor asked me why don't I go to club?
I replied that it is not a suitable place for me, that I don't drink.
And he said, going to club doesn't mean that you need to order alcohol and he said, I should go to club to make some friends
He said, wherever you go, you should adapt with people of that place
So, the question remains, do I offense any people with me not going to clubs?
I agree with his remarks that we should adapt to our environment
As for the case, I'm doing that
I go groccery shopping with a backpack, I eat with cutleries in restaurant
But that doesn't mean that whatever the people around you do, you should follow, isn't it?
There are certain things that we can tolerate and follow or else, for the things we don't like, we keep that in our heart and let them be.
Assimilation is trying to fit in, integrating two different values not a make over, where you adopt new values and throw off the old ones
Else, there won't be little india and chinatown in London or America

This park management thinks, ball games are not suitable on its ground when other parks think it's acceptable

Once in current health issues class, a boy from a Nordic country blamed the immigrants especially those from Middle East for not taking enough vitamin D.
Saying, we would run out at the first shine fo the sun, but they would be stuck in their home all day.
Ok I can't blame his sceptism towards the immigrants because me myself have sceptism towards immigrants in my country.
But to point out dressing and covering oneself as the reason for not getting enough vit D is not so right
Because when we eliminate religious issue, like they like to do
There are many other ways we can get vitamin D
I believe every country (albeit I'm not sure if Greenland have chicken)in the world has chickens and chickens lays eggs and eggs have yolks and yolks contain vitamin D
I think the remark that we can get vitamin D from the sun should be altered a little bit, because we get vitamin D from morning sunshine, not from a scorching sun
And in case you don't know, there are 3 big gaps, or is it one big gap the size of Greenland? at the atmosphere in North pole
Which mean sunbathing under the sun over there is like telling your skin, oh skin, not long, not long after you are tanned and malignant
So, I'd rather eat egg yolks rather than sunbathing

And so we move to the third subject.
I thought (mind the past tense) so called modern and liberal people are the ones who know the most about freedome
So, piercing, tattoing, clubbing, children leaving parents are tolerated
But surprisingly, for unhurt matter like wearing hijab causes a great stir among these people
who call (mind the present tense) themselves open minded
Hel-lo, if you are open minded, then why you ban girls from wearing hijab, why would you condemn people who dress modestly
Covering oneself, I believe, doesn't hurt anyone
Don't come and tell me tattooing doesn't hurt, and sexy girls don't tease men sexual desire
Frankly, they speak like the women in hijab are being oppressed when the oppressed women are the one who you put in kinky dress and made them pole dancing
I have a different idea about women oppression
You wanna know why?
Maybe my questions will answer you
When I look at ads, I wonder, this is an ads about a mobile phone, but how come the woman in the ads is larger and desirable than the main product, the mobile phone?
When I look at girls in bikinis on the pristine beaches, I wonder, why the girls should have minimal clothes (if you still regards bikinis as clothes) on while the men have bermuda under the scorching sun?
Why the girls should wear high heels and men wear loafer?(because I think, why women must suffer and guys don't?)
These don't mean I don't like the things above
It's just that sometimes they makes me uneasy, they make me think women are being used (of course they tell you as a women you need to dress like a doll, when they intend to show you off to be picked by guys)
Kenyataan memang memahitkan. Bukan begitu?

Some birds fly away and some birds stay in the pond because they heart the feeling of cold water on their bum

Your way isn't necessarily others way too
Because, in this world, there isn't only 1 right way, there are many right ways
So pick which one you want, and respect others choice too
So that post seperti ini tidak ditype

Swimming Pool Keeper

Back in elementary, we lived in remote Teluk Bahang.
Life was simple.
Abah was a watch at a hotel swimming pool, mom a full time housewife.
But back then, they already plan their future, they want to relocate somewhere else
And me, there was a fat chance my future secondary education will need quite some amount of money.

So abah took up few swimming pool maintenance contracts and by the time I was 12, mom went to work as a cleaner.
All three of us (Nazri, Nazir and me meself) know how to swim and swimming pool for us, is the most elegant place to go swimming.
We have been in the sea and small rivers and waterfalls but swimming pool with slides was a rare chance.

So, every evening, we would take turn to follow abah for the part time work.
Sometimes, greed took over and we would fight on who will go with abah
We don't have car, all we have is a motorcycle at our disposal
As soon as I arrive, I would change inside the pump room into short and shirt, took the penyapu jerami and penyodok and sweep the falling leaves on the poolside.
Done with that, I'll jump into the pool, exercising all my muscles
Sometimes, I went over to see what abah is doing.
He would be in the pump room or meddle with large filter near the pool
Twice a month, I would help with scrubbing the pool
I had baby pool for the longest of time before I'm allowed to scrub the main swimming pool
At nights, I would follow abah again to pour chlorine.

Along the way, I met few people.
First, a Chinese boy who taught me to walk upside down in the water
Second, a Caucasian girl about 9 year-old. She kept tagging me, even when I want to change inside the pump room just because she wanted me to walk her home, which is 2 floors up the building right beside the pool. Haish
Owh, in another condominium complex, I slide straight onto a little boy.
That was my worst nightmare, not because I got a bruise under my eye but because boy, I may give that little boy a bruise himself.
Then, there were giggling girls about my age talking about tuition and their achievements loudly to each other
I haven't tell this to anyone, but I suspected they wanted to make friend with me
Except that I thought they were the typical rich girls and in my humble opinion, am not suitable to be their friend
After all, the swimming pool at that time is the one in Tanjung Country Club, where riches frequent
I can still see the nice landscape, a round pool perched higher than the other larger two, with pohon kemboja n bougainvilla cricling it.
All three pools look out to the sea
Then there was a girl, who seret me to her mom and I ended up learning swimming frog style with them
I must look like a fool back then
Hahahaha

Abah continued taking up the part time job after we moved and when I got into high school
But cost of maintenance rocketed up, chlorine became expensive and it's not long before my dad stop taking the part time job.
Fond memories they are, that I remember them up till now (of courselah minus the final part =p)

Sesungguhnya Cabai Itu Pedaih

Amaran : this post may proof a waste of time for most people

When I was back home, I tried the spiciest of Nando's peri2 chicken.
My say, it tasted more like vinegar than it does chili.
I used to be perplexed when some of my mates can't handle chili in their food.

Being away from home, the first year, we didn't bring any dried chilli.
So we did food with chilli like less than half a dozen times.
So this year, we stock up on dried chilli
The thing is, after a year or so of chillied food deprieved, OUR OWN stomach has problem handling it.
And our nose keep running after what WAS a mild spiciness
It's a shame at first for me, for not being able to take chilli as I used to

Somehow, we managed to get hold of fresh cili burung/api from Thai shop.
Last weekend, we had laksa and I put the normal amount of cut chilli in my bowl
And I suffer prickling stomachache for 2 days
Was dehydrated and man, I even feel like fainted.

I think now I will be able to distinguish Mild Peri2 chicken from hot peri2 chicken =p

Noviny

aka newspaper.
Date is not known but sources are highly reliable.
The news that caught my attention.

1. A priest or someone who have high position in religious matter in Czechland is retiring soon and some of his speech contain -I'd say- warning. Wht warning? He reminds people that Islamisation is taking place in the Europe and its a matter of time before the culture will grip the continent. It's both good and bad thing on my side. Good because of course as a Muslim, am proud that Islamic culture, knowledge and lifestyle will rise once again and dakwah too. Bad thing is, if we consider this a warning, expected response to warning is expected. errr, do u get my point?
erm, let us make it long. Czech if am not mistaken haven't reach 15 years of independency, so it's considered young compared to Malaysia. So, the people here, some of them are quite Islamophobic, but I dare say the phobicity has considerably rarely spotted nowadays. Islamophobic here generally is caused by
1) most of them still can't open up to people. we can't blame them. communism taught them nobody is to be trusted except your faithful dog (and of course dog is not under the category of nobody)
2) sceptical view towards Islam. Islam = terrorist = people who bombs all the places in the world (of course those of phosphorus bombings are not terrorists). we can't blame the communist for this. even Ruben Abu Bakar from a developed Australia firstly didn't want to investigate about Islam in his search for truth because of terrorist issue. Blame should all be put on lack of reasoning skill.

so, back to the topic, if Islamisation is a warning, they'll all freak out and repel us (nauzubillah jgn la berlaku)

2nd news is, starting 01 January 2010 (again, if I'm not mistaken) most of the drugs (not the one that u use in hospital but the one u use on dancefloor and stairs and clubs for the sake of fun) are legal in Czech Republic.
You can say the law is quite similar to that in Amsterdam.
U can distribute the drugs right under the nose of the police or straight into their veins (just kidding)
I don't know what's the agenda behind this new law.
If I'm to be husnuzon (positive thinking), the introduction of this law maybe is because they want to do reverse psychology.
But I wonder, how do you expect to enlarge man population when statistically every single Czech (including babies) pours down 322 and half litres of beer per year and now, when recreational drugs have been added to the menu.

Oh, most of the students would be happy too. It's terrifying but there are students who use drug to help in their study apart from helping them to spin on the dancefloor.

Dearest Mom

You may feel that your world is falling apart now.
Afraid not my dear mom because we are always here for you - me, my brothers and our dad.
And the most important is that He'll always there for you.

When I'm free tomorrow, I would want to sing you Insha Allah
Everytime you feel like you cannot go on
You feel so lost
That your so alone
All you is see is night
And darkness all around
You feel so helpless
You can’t see which way to go
Don’t despair and never loose hope
Cause Allah is always by your side

Insha Allah x3

Insya Allah you’ll find your way

Don’t despair and never loose hope

Cause Allah is always by your side
Insha Allah x3
Insya Allah you’ll find your way
Insha Allah x3
Insya Allah you’ll find your way

Turn to Allah
He’s never far away
Put your trust in Him
Raise your hands and pray
OOO Ya Allah
Guide my steps don’t let me go astray
You’re the only one that showed me the way,
Showed me the way x2
Insha Allah x3
Insya Allah we’ll find the way

My Joy Is Their Suffering

The snow was falling lightly.
Coming from a tropical country, it's natural that I enjoy this wonder that Allah bestows upon this 4 seasons country.
For me, they heavier the snow falls, the more I like it.
I can go sliding or perharps tobogganing.

The prospect of the snow falling makes me happy until I drew up the blind in front of my study.
There, on a bench are orange and purple things that look like some nylon or something.
There, is someone who have no shelter and worst insufficient layers to keep his or her body warm.
A homeless person, trying his/her best to keep himself/herself warm and I was hoping for the snow to fall.
I know how does it feel to be freezing in the winter.
Let me wait 2 hours outside with sufficient layers of air pockets, and I'd be dying for hot beverages and I would be feeling like I'm gonna die.

This person reminds me of that old lady in Oxford Street who curls in her sleeping bag, people passing by, eager to spend their money on the ongoing sales.
Many hadn't notice that woman.

To them, I wish they'll survive this winter and here comes the snow..
Do I be happy again?
